Supported Housing Schemes
Each of our supported housing schemes has its own character and design but they
all have the following in common:
- Independent Living with support
- Single person accommodation to modern standards
- Security of tenure (permanent assured tenancy)
- Fully self-contained one bedroom flats/bungalows (no bedsits)
- Fully furnished accommodation (maintained via service charge)
- Caretaker/Good Neighbour resident on site
- Visiting support from Tenant Support Worker
- Support from local Health and Social Services in line with the Care Programme Approach
as required
- Active links with Warrington Day Centre and Warrington Workspace
Park Court Flats, Crosfield Street, Warrington (12 tenants)
Park Court was the first scheme to open in July 1984. It consists of 12 self-contained
flats for as many single tenants plus another unit for the Resident Caretaker. The
tenants are drawn from a mixture of hospital and community backgrounds. Many tenants
have been resident since the scheme opened and most tenants regard the scheme as
a home for life. Support to tenants is provided by the Resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour
plus visiting support from our Tenant Support Worker(s) plus local Health and Social
Services according to need.
This scheme is situated facing Bank Park and is within easy walking distance of
Warrington Day Centre, Warrington Workspace and Warrington town centre. The scheme
is owned and maintained by Arena Housing Association.

Ellesmere Street Flats, Ellesmere Street, Howley, Warrington (11 Tenants)
This scheme opened in early 1991 and provides accommodation for 11 single tenants
plus a resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour. The accommodation is arranged on 3 floors
and is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. Tenants are drawn from a mix of housing backgrounds.
Support to tenants is given by the Resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour and Tenant
Support Workers plus Health and Social Services as above.
The scheme is located within half a mile walking distance of the town centre.
The premises are owned and maintained by Arena Housing Association.

Tavlin Avenue Flats, Tavlin Avenue, off Hawleys Lane, Dallam, Warrington (10 tenants)
The Tavlin Avenue scheme opened in late 1993 and consists of 10 self-contained flats
for tenants, plus a small bungalow for the Resident Caretaker. Tenants here are
drawn from a mix of housing backgrounds including homelessness. Support to tenants
is provided by the Resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour plus our Tenant Support Workers
and input from local Health and Social Services.
This scheme is situated about one and a half miles from Warrington town centre.
The premises are owned by Arena Housing Association.

Salisbury Street Flats, Salisbury Street, Warrington (8 tenants)
Salisbury Street flats opened in late 1995. The premises are owned by Making Space.
The scheme consists of 9 spacious flats on 3 floors for 8 single tenants and a Resident
Caretaker/Good Neighbour. Tenants are drawn from a mix of housing backgrounds. Support
to tenants is from the Resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour and Tenant Support Workers
plus local Health and Social Services as required.
The scheme is located within half a mile of Warrington town centre.

Syers Court, Orford Road, Padgate, Warrington (9 tenants)
Syers Court, our latest scheme, opened to tenants in July 1998. The premises are
owned by Arena Housing Association. The scheme consists of 10 bungalows for 9 tenants
and a Resident Caretaker/Good Neighbour. One bungalow is constructed to wheelchair
disability standard. There is an office on site for our Tenant Support Workers.
The bungalows are arranged in a cul-de-sac with attractive spacious gardens to front
and rear. The tenants are drawn from a mix of housing backgrounds. The scheme is
particularly suited to persons who require ground floor accommodation on grounds
of age or disability (maximum age on entry 65 years) but it is also open to younger
and non disabled applicants. Support to tenants is given by the Resident Caretaker/Good
Neighbour and Tenant Support Workers as below plus input from local Health and Social
Services as required.
This scheme is situated within easy walking distance of local shops and about one
mile from the town centre.
